Andrew Rehfeld, Ph.D.

Andrew Rehfeld is the president and chief executive officer of Jewish Federation of St. Louis, a position he has held since September 2012. Actively engaged as a lay leader in the Jewish community of St. Louis, prior to taking his position Rehfeld served on the executive committees of the Jewish Community Relations Council and St. Louis Hillel, and served as a member of the board of the former Shaare Zedek congregation.
Rehfeld was formerly an associate professor of political science at Washington University in St. Louis where he served on faculty since 2001. He holds a Ph.D. in political science and a Masters of public policy, both from the University of Chicago. Rehfeld has published one book (The Concept of Constituency, Cambridge University Press) and numerous articles on topics in political philosophy, redistricting and the use of the Hebrew Bible for political purposes.
Rehfeld holds academic affiliations as a faculty affiliate of the Washington University Danforth Center for Religion and Politics, and as Senior Fellow in Hebrew Union College’s Center for the Study of Ethics and Contemporary Moral Problems, Cincinnati, OH.
