JFNA’s Lion of Judah Magazine Summer issue contains an terrific profile of our own director, Jane Roodman Weiss and her sisters, recipients of the 2012 Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland award recognizing their enduring impact in their home communities. Janie was celebrated locally last August by Women’s Philanthropy in anticipation of the national honor. Congratulations to Jane (and her sisters): your impact on our community has been and continues to be deeply felt and appreciated.

To Jewish Federation, St.Louis: I am puzzled as to the requirement that I live in the required geographical area in order to belong to Norc. I missed it by not too much, I live in Olivette,Mo. I understand that I will be allowed to participate in their bus trips, and I assume that is it! But I thought we Jews don’t approve of leaving out other Jews and that we had enough over World War 2. I don’t need freebees, I don’t need charity, just a senior center where I would be welcome. I can easily pay my own way, so what about us? Hope to hear back from someone in your Jewish Fed, unless you are “forbidden” to contact this Jew. Sadly, yours, Betty Victor
Betty,
Sorry for your frustration. We will be reaching out to you directly to discuss this further.
