Federation has had a long tradition of organizing missions to Israel that bring our community together and contribute to the Jewish depth of all who participate. Most, perhaps all of you have been on one or more missions and know they can sometimes be life changing; they always leave an impact.  For all their advantages, because of their costs and long duration (often more than a week) our community cannot take advantage of them as frequently as they would like.

Even as we continue to plan and run these missions to Israel, we have begun developing smaller “mini-missions” that build community among their participants and add to our Jewish depth as well.   On August 4 and 5 I will be going with a small group to Philadelphia to visit the new National Museum of American Jewish History and tour some of the key historic sites of our nation’s early founding.  Below you will find more information including costs and logistics.  We are grateful to Harvey Hieken who is chair of this mission.

If you are interested in going please contact Mindee Fredman: mfredman@jfedstl.org.

I hope to see you in Philly!

Andrew
