Event celebrates the St. Louis Jewish Community
Jewish Federation of St. Louis announced it has booked award-winning actor, singer and comedian Jason Alexander of “Seinfeld” fame to headline its Thrive LIVE! Gala on April 28 at 7 pm. The gala is a donor appreciation event that will allow Federation to thank their donors who are building the local St. Louis Jewish community and supporting Federation’s mission of preserving and enhancing Jewish life in St. Louis, Israel and around the world.
“Thrive LIVE! is a great way to say thank you to all the people who have helped create and maintain a thriving Jewish community in St. Louis,” said Andrew Rehfeld, Ph.D., Federation President and CEO. “It gives us a chance to celebrate our partnership with our local agencies, synagogues and cultural institutions to build our strong Jewish community, enhancing the lives of our members and providing a model to others in our region and around the world.”
Federation Chair Bob Millstone agreed. “We are grateful for the generosity and caring spirit of our donors, whose contributions help to make our community strong and vibrant. We are proud of the impact they have and are honored to work with them in executing our mission.”
Thrive LIVE! is chaired by the three branches of the Newmark family, Michael and Barbara, Bob and Kara and Jenifer and John. Barbara Newmark said she was happy to play a part in celebrating and supporting the St. Louis Jewish community. “This is a community-building event. It’s a fun way to come together and share some laughs, while reminding us that we are all a part of something bigger than ourselves.”
Alexander, best known for his role as George on television’s “Seinfeld,” is also a Tony award-winning singer and dancer, and he will entertain the donors with his many talents. Tickets to the gala, which will be held at the Peabody Opera House, will go on sale at the end of February and will be available to anyone who donates to the Federation’s Annual Campaign at any level.
This is the first in a series of events in 2013 and 2014 that will bring the St. Louis Jewish community together to celebrate thriving together and experience fun and family. Other Thrive LIVE! events will take place later in 2013 and 2014.
Saint Louis University Hospital is a silver level sponsor of Thrive LIVE! Additional sponsorships are available.
