Impact Breakfast

Join us for our annual gathering to learn about Jewish Federation’s critical work supporting Jewish life in St. Louis and around the world in 2022. We are excited to share our 2022 Impact Report, highlight some of the data and stories from our community investments and offer a look ahead at 2023 and beyond.

You’ll hear from our new Board Chair, Bob Newmark, and President & CEO, Brian Herstig who will share where we are headed as a Federation and more about the transformational and inspirational work that we do.

We will present the recipients of the David N. and Roselin Grosberg Young Leadership Awards, Fred A. Goldstein Professional Excellence Award and the RubinBrown Corporate Leadership Award. These honors have been awarded by Jewish Federation for over 60 years.

We hope that you can join us for a morning filled with coffee, breakfast, mingling, learning about Federation and being inspired by the Jewish community. Dietary Laws Observed. 2023 Impact Breakfast Award Recipients

 

2023 Fred A. Goldstein Professional Excellence Award, Craig Neuman

Craig Neuman is the recipient of the 2023 Fred A. Goldstein Professional Excellence Award. Craig has spent the past 31 years as a professional in the Jewish community. He joined the staff of the St. Louis JCC in 2008 as Director of Programming and is currently Chief Program Officer, where he oversees most of the programs the J provides for children. He previously worked at the JCC of Chicago for 15 years, starting in sports and recreation at the Bernard Horwich JCC and then as a Regional Director. Craig is a past president of JProStL and was its Mentor Award honoree in 2017. Craig has served on the Congregation B’nai Amoona Board of Trustees and is an active volunteer. Craig also has a passion for comedy and acting and has appeared in The J’s New Jewish Theater. Craig is married to Amy and they are the parents of Bella and Leo.

 

2023 David N. and Roselin Grosberg Young Leadership Awards, Elliott Kleiman and Shira Berkowitz

Elliott Kleiman and Shira Berkowitz have been chosen as the recipients of the 2023 David N. and Roselin Grosberg Young Leadership Awards. Both Elliott and Shira are engaged members of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, they are leaders in the many endeavors they take on and exhibit the qualities of a true leader.

Elliott Kleiman currently serves as the Board Chair for Jewish Federation’s YPD (Young Professional Division) and previously served as the Vice Chair of Philanthropy. He also currently sits on the Israel and Overseas Committee and is a member of the Ben Gurion Society and active in Professional Society. His previous Federation involvement includes serving on the Development Committee and completing the Millstone Fellows program. A mediocre guitar player, his great joys are his wife Carly and dog Cookie. Professionally, Elliott owns Mero Properties, which invests in real estate and provides property management.

 

Shira Berkowitz is an artist, policy strategist, and social entrepreneur. They have over a decade of experience in civic and political strategy, from working within arts institutions, issues-based campaigns, and policy organizations. Currently, Shira creatively merges these strengths to lead PROMO’s policy strategy, an organization striving to achieve comprehensive equity for LGBTQ+ Missourians. They hold an MFA from Washington University of St. Louis, and is dedicated to building spaces for people to grow as community while addressing civic and social challenges in our built environment. They are a founding board member of MaTovu, a Jewish neighborhood center in the City of St. Louis, serves on the Board of Directors for the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, are a founding member of MARSH – a queer bio-culture laboratory and mutual aid hub, and founded Camp Indigo Point – a camp for LGBTQ+ youth in the Midwest.

 

2023 RubinBrown Corporate Leadership Award, Atlas Supply Company

The 2023 RubinBrown Corporate Leadership Award will go to Atlas Supply Company, which was selected for its steadfast support of Federation and the Jewish community. The company was founded in 1937 by Fred and Ben Suffian, and it was Fred’s sons Mike (Nan) and Bob (Carolyn) who dedicated themselves to the company’s long history with philanthropy. Atlas Supply Company remains a successful and growing family business now led by its third generation of Suffians, Brent, Leigh, and Joel. They continue to provide quality commercial plumbing products through Atlas and premier kitchen and bath brands through their design studio Immerse. Atlas has exemplified philanthropic leadership in our community for over eighty years with three generations of Suffians at the helm. Jewish Federation of St. Louis is honored to present Atlas Supply Company with the RubinBrown Corporate Leadership Award.
