About the Speaker
Herbert Quelle has been the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany based in Chicago since July 2014. He joined Germany’s Federal Foreign Office in 1980, and his posts abroad have included Los Angeles, Pretoria, Havana, Warsaw, London, Boston and Baku. Consul Quelle completed a fellowship at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University. He is a prolific writer and music player, and wrote a book on the connection between the German harmonica and the blues.
