Event to be Held on October 5 to Honor Victims, Survivors, and Resilience
Jewish Federation of St. Louis invites the community to join in a moving commemoration of October 7, 2023, honoring the victims, survivors, and families impacted by the attacks in Israel. The event will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, beginning at 5 pm. Registration is required to attend.
The evening will open with interactive, immersive experiences for all ages designed to engage, educate, and remember. Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- View a short documentary screening.
- Explore a photo exhibit memorial honoring the victims of the Nova Music Festival.
- Participate in PJ Library family-friendly activities, including letter writing and bracelet making.
- Kites for Peace will be given out honoring the memory of the Kutz family and the victims of Kfar Azza.
- Join in a food packing project and receive “A Recipe with a Memory” book.
- Engage in virtual reality testimonials.
“These spaces will be emotional, impactful, and intentional,” said Cynthia Wachtel, Manager of the Israel Emissary Initiatives at the Jewish Federation of St. Louis. “Each moment has been created to honor the memory of those lost, stand in solidarity with survivors, and strengthen our community’s commitment to resilience and hope.”
In conjunction with the experiences, a special program at 6:30 pm, moderated by Danny Cohn, President & CEO of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, will feature special guests who will share their first hand testimonials.

Light Kosher snacks will be provided. No cost to attend. Pre-registration is mandatory.
For security, no large tote bags or backpacks will be permitted. Only small purses will be allowed into the venue. Security staff will inspect all bags. Guests with prohibited items will be asked to return them to their vehicles. Security reserves the right to refuse admission or eject any person whose conduct is deemed disorderly, disruptive, or in non-compliance with our event policies.
