Purpose
Jewish Federation of St. Louis uses social media to engage our community, share our
mission, foster dialogue, and inspire support for Jewish life in St. Louis, in Israel, and
around the world. These guidelines are designed to ensure our social media presence
reflects our values, maintains professionalism, and supports inclusive, respectful
community engagement.
Scope
This policy applies to:
• Federation staff and leadership
• Volunteers, board members, and affiliated professionals
• Anyone posting on Federation-owned social media channels
• Individuals or organizations representing the Federation in an official capacity

When engaging on social media, whether officially or personally, behavior should
reflect:
• Respect: Honor diverse views, even in disagreement.
• Inclusion: Foster a welcoming space for Jewish individuals of all backgrounds,
denominations, and identities.
• Integrity: Share accurate, timely, and trustworthy content.
• Civility: Avoid personal attacks, inflammatory language, or disrespectful
dialogue.
• Safety: Protect the privacy and dignity of community members. Adhere to photo
release policies when posting images of minors or vulnerable populations.
• Copyright and Use Laws: Only use images, music, or text with proper permission
or clear attribution.
Community Engagement Guidelines
We encourage open dialogue and community participation. However, we reserve the
right to hide or delete comments that:
• Contain hate speech, antisemitism, racism, or bigotry of any kind
• Include profanity or vulgar language
• Are threatening, harassing, or incite violence
• Spread misinformation or conspiracy theories
• Promote political candidates or parties (in line with 501(c)(3) regulations)
• Violate someone’s privacy
• Are spam or off-topic
Repeat or serious violations may result in users being blocked from our platforms.
Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including removal of posts,
restricted access to the Federation accounts, or further action in accordance with
employee or volunteer policies.
