Masada
We awoke for a wonderful breakfast at the Prima Royale Hotel. Our journey to Masada started in the city and once we crossed through a tunnel for about 30 seconds, we arrived in the desert. One quick stop at the gas station for a camel ride and we were almost to Masada. We all chose to hike the snake path up to the top while stopping along the way to take pictures of the Dead Sea and Jordan in the distant background. The ruins coupled with Amir’s history provided us with a complete picture of what took place and what our people endured.

Dead Sea
We left Masada and headed to the spa for the Dead Sea experience that awaited us. The water was surprisingly cold, but that didn’t stop the fun in this unique body of water. We were fortunate enough to find some mud and we then luxuriated in the healing process.

 Havdalah overlooking Jerusalem
As our first Shabbat in Israel comes to an end, what could be more special than reciting Havdalah prayers along the magnificent landscape of Jerusalem itself.  With the flames of the Havdalah candle ablaze and the wine sitting patiently in our cups, this marks the end of Shabbat.  We all felt the added emotion of experiencing Havdalah in this historic Capitol city.
