Hello everyone!
I’d like to share with you all about my week. So last week I went with NFTY UH youth group to spend the weekend in Denver, Colorado in a NFTY convention. It was the best time ever.
I met a lot of new friends, spent time with old friends, learned more things about Judaism and Israel, I led a program about Israel and made unforgettable memories and experiences.
The youth groups is one of my favorite things to do here, to spend time with people in my age almost and make connections.
I came back on Monday night. On Thursday afternoon I had religious school. Like every week in the first hour of religious school I’m teaching Hebrew. I can tell that my students really improved and I’m so happy. In the second hour I let a program about holidays in Israel. In the first part of the activity I asked the kids some trivia questions about the holidays and tried to make em know the main things they should know when they talk about holidays in Israel.
The second part we focused on 3 specific holidays – Yom Kippur, Shavuot and Sukkot. Each group requested to make a commercial/show to present her holidays. It was so fun and funny, the kids really go into it and wanted to win and competition. And at the end the winners got a price – chocolate! (Of course that everyone got chocolate at the end ;)
On Wednesday night the weather went crazy so I didn’t go to do you launch night because it was canceled but I also went to hang out with one of my friends.
On Thursday morning I had great time at the DCC in UH. I kept doing my Israeli kids books program for the kids. This time I decided to read the book “a tale of 5 balloons” to the kids, one of my favorite Israeli books for kids. After that we all made art together. Each one of the kids made himself kids of a small book which includes 5 pages.
At each page, he decorated the page with decoration in a specific color that was mentioned in the book. The kids loved it and I was so happy.
