WOW! What a cold weekend we had!
It was my first time seeing this amount of snow! My host family and I went to the movies, hung out together at home and just had a very chill weekend.
But before the snow began, Snir and I made a presentation to people from NORC. We talked about the different life choices and opportunities that teens in the USA and in Israel have. It was very fun and interesting and participants had many questions.
On Tuesday at BA’s ECC, the kids started their journey to Israel. We flew together to Israel, went through customs and talked about the Hermon Mountain and high altitude places in Israel like special buildings in Haifa and Tel Aviv. On religious school at BA the 3-6th graders learnt about the cities in Israel and tried to convince the teachers to come and live in one of the cities.
On Wednesday night at USY we had a lecture about Shaving Israel – an organization that supports lone soldiers in Israel. It was very interesting and we learnt new things about the lone soldiers in Israel, and wrote letters to them. After the lecture, we had a nice activity about Israeli Music and its variety.
At the ECC of UH on Thursday, we talked about TU BISHVAT – the birthday of the trees. We made a big tree together out of our hands and each kid got a “My Plant Kit” to use in their house.
My Plant Kit is a kit with beans and cotton balls to plant for TU BISHVAT from Israel.
This weekend is the NFTY winter convention at UH. I know it will be so much fun and I can’t wait for it!
Have a nice and warm weekend!
