The Holocaust Museum & Learning Center has named Fran Poger as its next chair. She begins her term in September. Poger will succeed Myrna Meyer, who was named museum chair three years ago.

“We are thrilled to have someone with Fran’s qualifications and passion for our mission in this important position,” said Museum Director Jean Cavender.

Poger began volunteering at the Museum in 2002 as a docent and has added responsibilities, including chairing several committees.

“I am both humbled and excited to take on this role,” Poger said. “Using the lessons of the Holocaust to inspire others to make the world a safer, more tolerant place remains relevant to our lives today.”

Meyer, who has known Poger for years, called her warm and approachable style a perfect fit with the Museum.

“The Holocaust Museum will remain in capable hands under Fran’s leadership,” Meyer said. “We are all very excited for her to take this next step.”

Poger taught elementary school for many years and served as Assistant Principal, then Principal at Spoede School in the Ladue School District.

The Holocaust Museum & Learning Center receives 30,000 visitors each year for tours, lectures and exhibits. For more information, visit our website at HMLC.org, our Facebook page or call 314-442-3711.
