Deborah Grayson Riegel, MSW, PCC, returns to St. Louis September 11 – 13 to lead training programs targeted to different leaders in the Jewish community and St. Louis region. Riegel is an internationally recognized expert in communication skills and professional coaching. She contributes to Harvard Business Review, Forbes, Bloomberg Business Week and the New York Times. Deborah is adjunct faculty at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business and her clients include American Express, Google and Kraft. Deborah spends extensive time working with Jewish organizations across North America and is the founder of the Jewish Coaching Academy. All programs are sponsored by the Millstone Institute, the community-wide leadership development initiative of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis.

On Sunday, September 11 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Deborah will present the Jewish Coaching Academy for Millstone Fellows and Millstone Fellows Alumni. On Tuesday, September 13, nonprofit leaders from Jewish, secular and faith-based organizations throughout St. Louis are invited to participate in a separate full-day of Leadership Coaching Skills Training supported by Maryville University. Both day-long programs are designed to introduce participants to core coaching skills that deepen listening, highlight powerful questions to unlock new thinking, increase empowerment and accountability and boost more successful work relationships.

Professionals from the St. Louis Jewish community are invited to professional development programs on Monday, September 12, each program designed for staff based on roles and experience. All day-time programs take place at the Jewish Federation of St. Louis Kopolow Building.

Creating a Culture of Feedback for Executives, Senior Managers and Clergy will take place from 8:00 – 10:00 am. With real-time practice and coaching, managers/clergy learn the four critical ingredients of a feedback conversation and how to give feedback in a way that leaders to increased trust, motivation and accountability.

Making Time for Living a Whole (and Happy) Life is planned for support staff from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and includes a light lunch. Participants will explore how to balance work and personal priorities with the expectations of others.

Powerful Conversations is open to all staff from 1:30 – 4:00 pm to experience direct ways to see conflict and resistance as opportunities for communication and growth. Practical, interactive exercises teach participants how to prepare for and manage different perspectives, reduce resistance, and create shared solutions.

The twice-yearly Millstone Institute Presidents’ Circle will take place Monday, September 12 from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at The J on the Staenberg Family Campus and is open to all board presidents, presidents-elect, clergy and Executives/CEOs.  Deborah will present on How to Be a Chief Engagement Officer.
