Learn and Earn will connect students with employment and the local Jewish community

Jewish Federation of St. Louis has launched a summer internship program for college students that will combine meaningful employment and a community connection experience. Applications are being accepted online now for “Learn and Earn,” an eight-week paid summer opportunity for students who either live or study in St. Louis.

As many as six interns will be matched with local companies, including Zoltek Companies, Inc., Warehouse of Fixtures, and Manor Real Estate, for positions in finance, marketing, sales and more. Interns will work in the positions Monday through Thursday, and on Fridays, they will come together to learn about the St. Louis Jewish community and connect with each other.

“The Learn and Earn program is a great way to connect companies with qualified interns and, at the same time, encourage students to engage in the local Jewish community,” says Joel Frankel, Federation’s engagement professional and coordinator of the program. “We think it’s a step toward attracting young adults who are invested in participating in Jewish life in St. Louis.”

To be considered for the Learn and Earn program, students must:

  • Be completing their junior year of college;
  • Live in St. Louis and attend school elsewhere or live elsewhere and attend school in St. Louis;
  • Be available Monday through Friday;
  • Have transportation; and
  • Be Jewish or interested in the St. Louis Jewish community.

Applications will be accepted through April 25.

In addition, Federation is seeking more companies to participate in the program. For more information, email jfrankel@jfedstl.org.
