United Way of Greater St. Louis’ 2013 Campaign Co-chairs Ron and Cheri Fromm officially announced United Way of Greater St. Louis’ 2013 fundraising campaign goal is $72,250,000 million. The campaign begins today, September 3 and ends early November. Ron Fromm is chairman of the board of Brown Shoe Company. The announcement came at the St. Louis Rams’ fourth annual Charity Luncheon that benefits United Way. More than 600 people attended the luncheon which helped kick off this year’s fundraising campaign by contributing more than $100,000 to help people through United Way and its supported agencies.
“Thank you to the Rams for hosting this luncheon today. We’re excited to take this opportunity to announce our 2013 campaign goal and share just how important United Way is to the community,” said Ron Fromm. “We are asking each of you in our community to answer the call to help people through United Way. If we each give what we can to help people in our region, we will make a positive difference in the lives of many.”
In addition to United Way Campaign Co-chairs Ron and Cheri Fromm announcing the 2013 fundraising goal for the community, attendees received a preview of the 2013 Rams season from Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher, while seated with a Rams player. A silent auction benefiting United Way was lead by host Steve Savard, the voice of the Rams on 101 ESPN.
With generous support through individual and corporate donations, United Way of Greater St. Louis is able to invest more than $1 million each week in the community to help one in three people through more than 170 local agencies it funds.
Cheri Fromm added, “What makes St. Louis special is we’re a community that cares. Our message is for everyone to consider a gift to United Way—nothing is too small and nothing is too big. It will all stay in the region to help your neighbor, the person you work or live next to, or it could even be yourself.”
“You have a choice in where you invest your money and your time,” said Orvin Kimbrough, CEO and president of United Way of Greater St. Louis. “The need is great in our region, and so is the generosity. When we work together as a community, we create the conditions to help people live their best lives. Thank you.”
