If you’ve lived in St. Louis anytime over the last 20 years you probably “know” that our population is 60,000 people. Actually we do not really know that: the estimate was based on a study begun 20 years ago and a good deal has changed in the region since then. Because of these changes, and thanks to the generosity of a donor, we have started on the path to our first demographic study since the mid-1990s.
The study will allow us to identify needs and plan for our future in a planned and systematic way. We will involve community input at every step to make sure Federation provides our agencies, synagogues and organizations the demographic needs they need to be strong and successful institutions.
Our study will take up to 2 years from start to finish. We are currently drawing up an RFP (Request for Proposals) and hope to have the study ready for release by the Fall of 2015. We will keep you updated as the project unfolds.
