William “Bill” Kahn will be remembered as one of the most respected, admired and loved members of our St. Louis Jewish Community. Head of the Jewish Community Center and Jewish Federation of St. Louis, he devoted more than four decades to Jewish communal service in St. Louis and served as the head of the Jewish Federations in Pittsburgh and New York. He had big dreams and the leadership and passion to make those dreams a reality—from his work at the JCCA to the development of the I.E. Millstone Jewish Community Campus to the establishment of the St. Louis Holocaust Museum and Learning Center. He also leaves a legacy of commitment and work toward racial equality and human justice. At this difficult time, we are united in sadness, sympathy and support for the Kahn family. May his memory be for a blessing.
