What are you most looking forward to doing/seeing/experiencing in Israel?
Everything. The whole experience, except the plane ride.
Who are you meeting in Israel and what is their role/profession?
I am paired with a group called Parents and Children Together (PACT). This group works with Ethiopian-Israeli children to enhance their literacy skills and educational performance to improve their academic success by addressing their cultural and language barriers.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy going to any of our local sporting events, reading, going to movies, and spending time with family and friends.
What are you doing to prepare for this experience?
To prepare for our trip I have read a couple of books, watched a movie, and I have taken a course on how to read Hebrew.
Favorite food
I really don’t have a favorite food. I will try just about anything (as long as it is cooked) at least once, if I like it then I may have it again.
Favorite Movie
I don’t have a favorite movie. I like all different kinds of movies. I love movies from the 80’s.
Something interesting/unique about yourself?
My Dad was in the army when I was little. I was born on an army base in VA and moved to several states before we settled in St. Louis. I have lived in St. Louis nearly all my life, except for the 2 years I lived in Peoria, IL, which is when I was in high school and one year in New York City, which was my first year of college.
