On Oct 30th the adventure begins for 10 young adults living in St. Louis.  This group will embark on a 10 day experience traveling throughout Israel.  Known as the Rubin Israel Experience, this ten day journey was created by Pam and Ron Rubin who are funding this opportunity for the 4th consecutive year.  These St. Louis Philanthropists had a vision of creating a trip for young adults ages 27-40 modeled after the Taglit-Birthright Israel program which offers 10-day fully subsidized trips to college and post-college students aged 18-26 that have never traveled on an organized trip to the Jewish state.  The intent of this trip, organized and staffed by the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, is not only to strengthen the bond between these young adults and the Land of Israel and help them connect to their Jewish roots, but also educate and inspire these Rubinites to come back and become more active in the St. Louis Jewish community, share their experiences, and motivate others to become involved as well.
These 10 young adults who have never traveled to Israel before were selected by the Jewish Federation of St. Louis and will be led by Federation staff member, Margo Newman, who has also led this trip in prior years.  The chosen participants this year are: Hilary Bair, Hilary Cedergreen, Jason Cohen, Vadi Dodge, Steve Lieberman, Lisa Nixon, Cheryl Perry, Jennifer Scissors, Doug Snyder, and Lisa Suffian.  Click on each participants name to learn more about them.
Throughout this 10 day trip, which will take place October 30-November 8, Rubin participants will share their daily experiences through this blog as well as on the Rubin Israel Facebook page.  Both the blog and facebook postings will be maintained by Rubin participants, Doug Snyder and Vadi Dodge.
We look forward to sharing our experiences with you!
