Climbing the Masada mountain for sure brought images of getting closer to G-d.  Not just physically climbing the massive 75 story mountain, but emotionally making the journey.   When driving toward the great mountains outside Jerusalem, they look tiny, small and have little distinction; however, when you get closer to each one, their unique shape comes into perspective.

Several of us Rubinites walked up the snake winding stairs of Masada. We traveled early in the morning 6am, to make it to the Masada a fortress city built by Herod the Great.  The view is amazing as it scans over the Dead Sea.  Several us, due to health, took the modern sky trolley to the top.  In an instant both groups experienced the massive undertaking it took a civilization to create such a city.

We learned the stories behind Masada and we were all touched by the significant importance of Masada and Jewish history.  (More to add shortly from our written journals)
