2025 Annual Campaign Co-Chairs, Galia Movitz & Janie Roodman Weiss, Ask the St. Louis Community to Please Donate to the Federation’s Annual Campaign As It Comes to a Close
In mid-November, the Jewish Federation of St. Louis proudly announced a unique opportunity for community members to double the impact of their donation to the Annual Campaign to keep the St. Louis Jewish community as safe as possible.
In response to the substantial increase in security needs across the region, a group of community leaders pooled their support and created a way for everyone to make a bigger, collective impact. Stacy Abeles, Gina and Mike Bernstein, Rachel and David Eidelman, Ellenhorn Charitable Fund, Lauren and Kyle Kerner, Debbie and Mike Lefton, Felicia Malter, Galia Movitz, Chris Segal, John & Janie Roodman Weiss, Drs. Deborah Zimmerman & Jonathan Root, and an anonymous donor have generously combined their philanthropic support and committed to doubling up to $180,000 of all new or increased donations to the Federation’s 2025 Annual Campaign.
Federation Annual Campaign Co-Chairs have the option to serve in their position for up to two years. Janie and Galia did such strong work in their first year as Campaign Co-Chairs that they were asked to return for a second year.
“After two years of doing this sacred work with Janie as Co-Chair, it is hard to believe that we are closing our second Annual Campaign together,” said Galia Movitz, 2025 Campaign Co-Chair. “In 2024, we were so amazed by the fact that our community came in with $1 million more than what we raised the year before. This year, our dream is to raise over $10 million,” she added.
With the rise in antisemitism, security needs are at an all-time high. For 2025, the Federation’s safety and security expenditures will surpass $1.5 million, exceeding the budgeted total by $500,000.
Janie Roodman Weiss, 2025 Campaign Co-Chair, explained, “We are quickly coming to the end, and still have needs to meet and want to raise more funds. We want you to know that every gift, big or small, counts. Your gift truly means something and is very critical to the community. Whatever you’re able to do, please do it, so that we can meet our goal and make sure that all Jews in need—in our community and around the world—have their needs met.”
As we approach the end of our 2025 Annual Campaign, we invite you to stand as one with us in ensuring that the St. Louis Jewish community is safe, protected, and connected. Please donate to the Federation’s 2025 Annual Campaign today.
Galia and Janie give their sincerest gratitude to all who have already donated and to those who intend to give. “We just want you to know how grateful we are for all of your commitment and generosity. Thank you for supporting the Federation’s 2025 Annual Campaign and for your commitment to the St. Louis Jewish community. We greatly appreciate you,” closed Roodman Weiss.
