About the Program:
Fresh off the excitement of the World Cup, join the Museum for Soccer Under the Swastika: Stories of Survival and Resistance During the Holocaust, an engaging program exploring how the world’s most popular sport became a source of hope, identity, community, and resistance during the Nazi era. Author and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Fellow, Dr. Kevin E. Simpson will share remarkable stories of courage and resilience, highlighting the role soccer played in the lives of those facing persecution. Dr. Simpson will be joined in conversation by Tamar Sher, award-winning sports anchor and reporter for First Alert 4 (KMOV) and the first woman named Missouri Sportscaster of the Year, for a discussion on the powerful connection between sports, society, and the human spirit.
This lecture is part of the Dr. Arthur & Marilyn Gale Lecture Series and is a free program. A reception and book signing will follow the event, with books available to purchase.
