Join Kol Rinah on November 8th, as Rabbi Julia Watts Belser, scholar, teacher and disability advocate presents: “Moses: Provocations from a Disabled Prophet”. This interactive text study launches our exploration of Rabbi Belser’s latest book: “Loving Our Own Bones: Disability Wisdom and the Spiritual Subversiveness of Knowing Ourselves Whole,” which won a National Jewish Book Award in 2023.
You are also invited to participate in a 2-part study group focusing on her book, as we learn about her interpretation of disability in the Bible, and her radical view of self-love and spirituality. Participants may read the entire book or focus on select chapters for these discussions. These sessions, on November 22 and December 6, will be led by Laura Rainey and Lisa Schlesinger.
The final session, on December 13th, is a unique opportunity to ask questions and share our study group comments with Rabbi Julia Watts Belser. All sessions are on zoom and will be recorded and available to registrants only.
