Staff members currently employed by a Jewish organization in St. Louis may apply for a scholarship up to $1500 to support participation in a class, workshop, conference, leadership program or Israel educational trip. The Fund is intended to support a professional development experience that the staff person otherwise would not be able to access.
Scholarship Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be employed for at least one year within the St. Louis Jewish community
- Work a minimum of 20 hours per week (year-round or during the school year)
- Submit a completed application form with supervisor approval
- Complete an evaluation form within one month following the educational experience
- Return any allocated funds that are not used
- Must use allocated funds by March 31, 2027
The Jewish Federation of St. Louis is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 Fund for Professional Development scholarships, recognizing four dedicated professionals who are strengthening their impact by their commitment to continuing their education.
This year’s scholarship recipients are:
- Marlee Cox, Congregation B’nai Amoona
- Bassy Landa, Chabad Jewish Center of St. Charles County
- Ruth Schachter-Cohen, Bais Abraham Congregation
- Helen Turner, St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum
Each recipient has received an allocation of $500 towards participation in a professional development opportunity to enhance their skills and bring new knowledge back to their organizations and to our community. Professional development opportunities include conferences, leadership programs, and educational experiences.
