Jewish Federation of St. Louis Awards Professional Development Scholarships to Four Local Jewish Leaders 

The Jewish Federation of St. Louis is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 Fund for Professional Development scholarships, recognizing four dedicated professionals who are strengthening their impact by their commitment to continuing their education.

This year’s scholarship recipients are:

• Marlee Cox, Congregation B’nai Amoona
• Bassy Landa, Chabad Jewish Center of St. Charles County
• Ruth Schachter-Cohen, Bais Abraham Congregation
• Helen Turner, St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum

Each recipient has received an allocation of $500 towards participation in a professional development opportunity to enhance their skills and bring new knowledge back to their organizations and to our community. Professional development opportunities include conferences, leadership programs, and educational experiences.

Established in 2021 in honor of Marci Mayer Eisen’s 40th work anniversary serving the St. Louis Jewish community, the Fund for Professional Development helps support Jewish communal professionals to access meaningful educational experiences.

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be employed by a St. Louis Jewish organization for at least one year.
• Work a minimum of 20 hours per week (year-round or during the school year).
• Submit a completed application with supervisor approval.

Applications for the next round of scholarships will reopen in late fall for 2027.
