Kolot Choir Open Rehearsal

Organizer(s): Kolot: The St. Louis Jewish Women’s Choir
Mon, October 20, 2025
7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Congregation B’nai Amoona (directions)

Kolot, the St. Louis Jewish women’s choir, will begin its second season under Artist Director Zoey Waldman-Schein this fall. Anyone interested in joining or learning more about the choir is encouraged to attend the first rehearsal and informational meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, at Congregation B’nai Amoona, 324 S. Mason Rd. in Creve Coeur.

Participation is open to women of all ages and Jewish backgrounds who share a love of singing contemporary Jewish music, as well as show tunes, and standards from the great American songbook. There is no audition required to join. The ability to read music is beneficial, but not essential. All vocal ranges are welcome, though there is a particular need this year for first sopranos.

In addition to leading Kolot, Waldman-Schein is the full-time director of music engagement at Congregation Shaare Emeth. Kolot meets weekly on Monday evenings, September-May, from 7:30-8:50 p.m. at B’nai Amoona. The choir performs throughout the year at various Jewish community events and presents concerts for local organizations and senior living centers.

Kolot was founded in 2005 by member Jackie Gerson and currently features more than 20 singers.

For more information and to RSVP for the Oct. 20th rehearsal, contact Waldman-Schein at kolotchoirstl@gmail.com.
