Join the Museum for a one hour live musical experience of loss and resilience, From Silence to Song: Hope and Remembrance after the Holocaust. Lori Laitman’s “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” brings the words of young voices to life, chosen from a collection of poems written by children from the Terezin Concentration Camp. Jake Heggie’s chamber opera “Another Sunrise” tells the story of Krystyna Zywulska, a Holocaust survivor and author of I Survived Auschwitz. Soprano Alexandra Billhartz will be joined by Julia Mrazek and Trent Patterson to present this recital that reflects on the history and horror of the Holocaust, while also showcasing a sense of hope in a post-Holocaust world.
