Federation’s 125th Anniversary Year
Mobile Storytelling Experience
The strength of Jewish St. Louis has always been its people: the families, traditions, memories and experiences that, together, tell the story of our community. We are capturing the many different voices that make Jewish St. Louis what it is today, and to preserve our stories for the generations to come.
As part of Federation’s 125th anniversary year, we’re excited to introduce a new mobile storytelling experience created to capture those stories … and we want to share it with you.
What is the Mobile Storytelling Van?
Federation has a specially equipped recording studio van, complete with comfortable seating, cameras, and microphones. Participants are asked to step inside to share their story.
What is the Experience?
Pairs of participants step inside and share an unscripted and authentic story. Perhaps it’s a moment that shaped what being Jewish means OR maybe its a family tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation. Everyone has a story to tell.
How will the stories be used?
We’ll record each of the sessions, will share some of them via social media and other channels, and will be preserving all of them in a digital archive, so that generations from now, others can see and hear from the people who shaped the community they inherited.
