When you give appreciated securities, you unlock their full value for impact—avoiding taxes while fueling the community you care about.
Benefits
Why Give Securities?
Reduce taxes wisely
Appreciated stock is often subject to significant capital gains taxes when sold. By donating securities directly, you bypass those taxes and ensure more of your gift goes straight to supporting the community.
Receive valuable deductions
You can take a charitable income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the securities you give, creating a benefit for you while providing vital resources for Federation.
Multiply your impact
Investments that may no longer serve your financial needs can become powerful tools for good. By gifting securities, you turn past financial success into lasting support for Jewish life.
Gifts through stocks & bonds can be use to make your donation to the Annual Campaign or to start Donor Advised Fund or an Endowment.
Note: The IRS values gifts of stock using the average of the high and low trading prices on the date of the gift. Mutual fund shares are valued using the closing price on the date of the gift.
