About the Program:
In honor of Women’s History Month, the Mendel Rosenberg Film Series in partnership with NCJWSTL invites you to a powerful afternoon at the Museum featuring 999: The Forgotten Girls. This new documentary brings to light the long-silenced stories of nearly one thousand young Jewish women and teenage girls deported from Slovakia to Auschwitz on March 25, 1942, the first official transport to the camp. Following the screening, director Heather Dune Macadam will join the Museum’s past Interim Executive Director, Dr. Fran Levine, for a compelling conversation on the film and the vital work of reclaiming women’s voices from history.
