Strategic Program Grant Priorities

Strategic program grants support programs and services to engage both young families with children and young adults, support Jewish learning, educate and advocate for a strong Israel and safe Jewish world, and provide a safety net for vulnerable Jews. Below are our priorities.

Building a Vibrant Jewish St. Louis

These grants support programs that ensure Jewish identity and engagement and create a vibrant local Jewish community. This subcommittee’s main priorities include:

  • Engaging families with young children
  • Jewish early childhood programs
  • Young adult leadership development, mentorship and engagement
  • Engaging interfaith couples and families
  • Jewish education – formal (day school, religious school, etc.) and informal (Jewish day camp or overnight camp, etc.)
  • Jewish community volunteer opportunities
  • Engaging the unaffiliated and those living outside the Jewish “core”
Enhancing St. Louis’ Attachment to Israel

These grants support programs that educate and advocate for a strong Israel and safe Jewish St. Louis. This subcommittee’s main priorities include, but are not limited to:

  • Enhancing community members attachment to Israel
  • Israel missions for leaders and influential members of the community
  • Promoting a nuanced dialogue locally around the topic of Israel
  • Programs that foster co-existence locally
  • Increasing security for local Jewish organizations
  • Addressing anti-Semitism locally
Supporting Local Individuals in Need

These grants support programs that identify, monitor and care for the most vulnerable Jews in St. Louis. This subcommittee’s main priorities include, but are not limited to, individuals and their family members from the following populations:

  • Elderly – especially those who are isolated, in transition, fragile or non-English speaking
  • Individuals and families facing economic hardship
  • Individuals with disabilities
  • Individuals with addiction or dependence on alcohol or illegal/prescription drugs
  • Individuals living with mental illness
Israel and Overseas Initiatives

This subcommittee’s main priorities include, but are not limited to:

  • Enhancing care for Jews in need
  • Nurturing Jewish education and identity
  • Helping build Israel and the global Jewish community
  • Programs that foster co-existence in Israel
