Many empty-nesters and seniors have great energy and talent that they’d like to channel in ways that build meaning and give strength to causes and communities they believe in. Join Rabbi Harris for a chance to study some of what Jewish tradition has to say on how we can harness that desire and make the chapters of the second half of life compelling and exciting.
About the Speaker
Rabbi Maurice Harris grew up in Creve Coeur and is a graduate of Parkway North High School (’87). He was ordained at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2003 and has worked as a congregational rabbi and member of the Thriving Communities department at Reconstructing Judaism, the central organization of the Reconstructionist movement. Rabbi Harris is the author of two books, Moses: A Stranger among Us, and Leviticus: You Have No Idea. He is an adoptive parent and a lifelong Cardinals fan.
This is the first in a series of programs that will be offered by Shir Hadash Reconstructionist Community on ways to lead a purposeful and fulfilling life as we age.
