Board of Trustees Meeting

December 13, 2018  |  7-9 pm

Board Room in the Kaplan Feldman Complex

We look forward to welcoming Andrew Martin, Chancellor-Designate of Washington University in St. Louis, for a conversation about WashU’s collaboration with external communities and its multiple partnerships with the St. Louis Jewish community.

Federation remains a primary funder of WashU Hillel and remains actively engaged with student life, including funding of select programs through Chabad on Campus. Over the last decade, our community’s partnerships with WashU have expanded considerably beyond student life.

Multiple WashU staff and faculty now serve as teachers, speakers, and advisors in our Center for Jewish Learning and the St. Louis Holocaust Museum & Learning Center. We are developing partnerships to support the work of WashU faculty and students in Israel, both from and through the George Warren Brown (GWB) School of Social Work and the Olin School of Business.

WashU is also opening a primary care medical practice in our community’s Covenant Place facility, which will be located in the Cahn Family Building. Its faculty from GWB School of Social Work continues to advise and engage with Federation’s Naturally Occurring Retirement Community. Other points of connection exist through the community.

Federation and our Jewish community have partnerships with other area educational institutions as well. Chancellor-Designate Martin’s visit follows a similar meeting of leadership by former Mizzou Chancellor Bowen Loftin a few years ago. We are grateful for Martin’s interest and willingness to speak with our community, and will remain open to finding meaningful conversations with leadership from other area leadership in the future.

We hope you will be able to attend this meeting and have the opportunity to meet Andrew Martin.

Please RSVP to Tara Mann at 314-442-3802 or TMann@JFedSTL.org  to confirm your attendance.
