Behind the Glass in Jerusalem

After a daring covert operation to capture Adolf Eichmann, the key player in the Final Solution was brought to Israel to stand trial. Testifying from inside a glass booth for his own safety, Eichmann claimed that he was “merely a little cog in the machinery” of destruction. The prosecution was one of the first televised trials – and brought the brutal facts of Nazi crimes into living rooms around the world. In conjunction with the special exhibition “The Artist Who Captured Eichmann,” join the Museum in marking the anniversary of the December 1961 verdict, with US Holocaust Memorial Museum historian, Dr. Edna Friedberg. Dr. Friedberg will offer an examination of this landmark case and its enduring impact on Holocaust memory and the pursuit of justice. This free program is offered as a partnership with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
