From traditional meat-and-bean cholent to creative variations with different spices\, ingredients\, and cooking techniques\, each entry offers a taste of the cook’s personal approach to this Shabbat staple.\nMore than just a food competition\, the cookoff celebrates Jewish tradition\, the warmth of Shabbat\, and the community spirit that makes Young Israel special.\nYoung Israel’s past cookoff announcements have invited attendees to sample every cholent and vote for their favorite\, with a lineup of community members and rabbis serving as chefs. There is a $5 admission fee with sponsorship opportunities available.
