Women’s Philanthropy of Jewish Federation of St. Louis will hold its sixth annual “Shower Our Community With Love” event on Thursday, April 24 at 7 pm at the Jewish Community Center Arts and Education Building, 2 Millstone Campus Drive.

At the shower, Women’s Philanthropy members will participate in a hands-on service project to benefit the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry and enjoy wine and dessert while making a difference. Speakers will share stories about how donors help the vulnerable through programs such as the food pantry and Leket Israel, Israel’s national food bank. There will be a collection of toilet paper, toothpaste, soap, laundry detergent, canned foods, cereal, dog and cat food, diapers, diaper wipes, and formula. The women will also be collecting new and gently used purses for a Mother’s Day service project.

Lisa Warticovschi, co-chair of the event says, “This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and such a special evening.” Fellow co-chair Stacy Abeles agrees. “The shower is a fantastic opportunity to bring together a diverse group of women for a program that is not only meaningful and engaging, but one that also makes a direct impact on the community,” Abeles says. “It’s such a rewarding event to be affiliated with and I know our attendees are going to have a great time and will be so proud of what we will be able to accomplish together in one evening.”

The cost of the shower is $15. RSVP by April 18 at WomensPhilanthropySTL.org. For more information, Laura Fields at lfields@jfedstl.org or 314-442-3805.
