The United Way of Greater St. Louis has allocated $180,475 to Jewish Federation of St. Louis for 2014, an increase of $1,000 from 2013. The additional money will partially fund food expenses in the social nutrition program.

The United Way allocation will be put to good use. The funding supports programs and organizations such as the Holocaust Museum and Learning Center, social nutrition programs at the JCC and Crown Center, homemaker services at JF&CS and Covenant/CHAI, and the Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC), in addition to Federation’s community services.

“Federation has a long-standing partnership with the United Way,” says Andrew Rehfeld, Ph.D., Federation president and CEO. ”We appreciate their generous funding and look forward to another year of working with them to strengthen our community.”

“The impact of the Jewish Federation’s work in the community is immeasurable,” says Becky Herschbach, vice president of Community Investment for United Way. “They are a long-term valued partner of ours, and I look forward to continuing our relationship.”

The St. Louis community contributed $72,254,028 to United Way’s 2013 campaign, surpassing their goal.
