The Staenberg Family Foundation announced that 14 local Jewish organizations will be recipients of over $56,000 though the Anything Grants, aimed at helping organizations raise funds for a variety of needs.

The Staenberg Family Foundation, celebrating its 10th Anniversary, continues to be committed to supporting the St. Louis Jewish community. “The Anything Grants help ensure that these organizations have the ability to address issues that are critical to their operations, such as building repairs, equipment and program development, “said Michael Staenberg, who started the Foundation with his wife, Carol, to ensure that the Jewish community, as well as the greater St. Louis region, flourishes. “We hope it will inspire others to invest in projects that will help our community thrive.”

The recipients of this year’s Staenberg Family Foundation Anything Grants include:

  • Aish HaTorah of Greater St. Louis, Inc.- New Heating Unit
  • Bais Abraham Congregation- Playground Project
  • Congregation Shaare Emeth- Open our Tent to All
  • Congregation Temple Israel- Security Training
  • Crown Center for Senior Living- Vital Tech
  • Friends of Israel Scouts, Inc. – Leadership Training for 9th-12th Grade Israel Scouts
  • Jewish Community Relations Council- Communications and Development Redesign
  • Jewish Family & Children’s Service- Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry Parking Lot
  • Kol Rinah- Siddur Lev Shalem–A New Siddur for a New Generation
  • Maryville University Hillel- Maryville Hillel Website Development and Implementation
  • New Mt. Sinai Cemetery- New Mt. Sinai Cemetery Access Expansion Project
  • Nusach Hari B’nai Zion- Monument Sign
  • Temple Emanuel- Temple Emanuel Telephone System Replacement
  • Yeshivat Kadimah High School- YKHS Office Buildout

Each grant will be equal to 50% of the project budget; organizations are responsible for raising the remaining 50% from other sources. The Staenberg Family Foundation was founded in 2005 by Michael and Carol Staenberg to ensure that the Jewish community, as well as the greater St. Louis region, thrives and flourishes. The highest funding priority has been supporting services, projects and programs directed toward creating a thriving Jewish community. The Foundation’s other significant areas of interest are services, projects and programs relating to arts and culture, children, education, and medical research, which work toward the betterment of the St. Louis metropolitan area. The Staenberg Family Foundation is celebrating its 10th year with Jewish Federation of St. Louis.
