Gerald (Gerry) P. Greiman has been nominated as Board Chair of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, to succeed current chair Harvey Wallace. Gerry will be formally presented for election at the Jewish Federation of St. Louis’ Annual Meeting and Installation of Officers on Thursday, September 7, 2017.

Greiman is a partner in the law firm Spencer Fane LLP. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, as Vice Chair for Strategic Planning, as well as the Board of Directors for the Jewish Community Relations Council, where he served as President from 2009-2012.  He also serves as Advisory Board Chair of the JCRC’s Barbara and Michael Newmark Institute for Human Relations.  He is a past co-chair of Federation’s Cardozo Society, which focuses on the legal community.  Gerry is also involved with the Jewish Council for Public Affairs on the national level, serving on its Executive Committee, as Vice Chair. Gerry also serves as Treasurer of the Good Government for Missouri PAC, a political action committee comprised of St. Louis Jewish community leaders, and serves on the Board of Directors, and as Chair of the Legislative and Political Committee, of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri.

“We are fortunate to have Gerry’s vision and leadership as Board Chair during this exciting time in Federation’s history,” says Andrew Rehfeld, President and CEO of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis. “Gerry brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will be tremendous assets to Federation as we further our mission to help individuals live with dignity, meaning and purpose.”

Rehfeld continues, “Gerry will have the opportunity to build on the significant contributions that Harvey Wallace has made during his past two years as our Board Chair. Harvey has been instrumental in making security a top priority, and starting important legacy projects including the renovation of the 35 year old Kopolow building.”

“Our St. Louis Jewish community is fortunate to have Gerry Greiman as our next Board Chair,” said Harvey Wallace, current Board Chair. “Gerry comes to the position with a wide range of engagement in the Jewish and civic community. I know he will take on this role with the confidence and skills that have made him a successful leader in prior endeavors.”

The Board Development & Nominating Committee is confident that Gerry will be able to build on the great successes of past Board Chairs. “We could not be more excited that Gerry has accepted our nomination and agreed to take on the largest leadership role at the Federation,” said Patricia Croughan, Immediate Past Board Chair and Chair of the Nominating Committee. “It was an honor to lead the committee in making this decision and we look forward to the innovative and impactful work Gerry will accomplish in this new role.”

Greiman said, “I am honored to have been nominated as the next Board Chair and look forward to engaging with our wonderful St. Louis Jewish community as we continue Federation’s important work.”

Greiman is married to Susan Carlson, a lawyer in private practice and former Missouri state representative. They have two children, David and Nora Greiman, and are members of Central Reform Congregation.
