Jewish Federation of St. Louis has a new $10,000 scholarship available to area Jewish high school seniors and community college students who are transferring to a four-year college or university.

The Cynthia and Garry Seltzer College Scholarship will recognize a student who has demonstrated academic achievement, leadership skills, and financial need.

The student must have a permanent residence in the St. Louis metropolitan area at the time of application, including, but not limited to: the City or County of St. Louis; St. Charles County; Jefferson County; and Metro East, Illinois.

Applications, which include a 1,000-word essay, are open through April 8.

The Seltzer Scholarship joins seven other scholarships and interest-free loans available to local students. Apply online here. 

The awardee will be notified no later than April 22.
