Only two weeks remain before L’Chaim! returns and tickets are going quickly. The Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis evening of celebration, community and giving will feature former Miss World Linor Abargil on Thursday, Nov. 1.

Less than 94 tickets remain for the largest Jewish women’s event in St. Louis. Organizers expect the event to sell out as women come out to hear from the only Israeli to be crowned Miss World.

Abargil is an actress, model, attorney and global advocate in the fight against sexual violence. At L’Chaim! Abargil will share her own story of sexual assault and recovery. Just seven weeks before being crowned Miss World in 1998, the then 18-year-old Abargil was sexually assaulted in Milan, Italy. For Abargil, the crown had a purpose and she used this platform to advocate against sexual violence. In 2008, she launched BraveMissWorld.com and started speaking out about sexual violence.

In 2013, “Brave Miss World,” a documentary film about Abargil, the assault and subsequent activism was released, earning an Emmy nomination.

L’Chaim! takes place, at The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis beginning with a reception at 6:15 p.m. Dinner and a formal program will follow at 7 p.m. Guests may also purchase a special ticket for “Starting Strong with Linor, the VIP Pre-Event from 5:15-6:30 p.m. to meet Linor Abargil.
