The Center for Jewish Learning (CJL) invites everyone to discover the richness of Jewish learning with our fall Adult Education Classes.
CJL, a division of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, offers a wide selection of courses for adults with varied interests and backgrounds. All classes are taught by experienced teachers who welcome and value every Jewish learner.
Course topics include Text and Thought; History, Politics, Archaeology and Current Events; Arts and Culture; Hebrew and Yiddish Language; and more.
The Fall Course Catalog includes new courses and new faculty. Dr. Andrew Rehfeld, President & CEO of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, will teach a course on the history of Zionism; Russel Neiss, an app builder and software engineer at Sefaria, will be teaching the course “Radical Jewish Thinkers”; Rabbi Roxanne Shapiro will teach a course on “Jews in America: Insiders and Outsiders”; Dr. Wendy Love Anderson will teach a course on “Miraculous Healing in Jewish Tradition”; Gal Amir, former head of the New Media Design department at Ruppin Technology Center in Israel, will teach on “Israeli Art and Artists” and “Jewish Feminist Art”; and Dr. Arnold Kaplan will teach on “Yiddish Theater.”
What’s New?
While most of courses will be held at the newly renovated Jewish Federation of St. Louis offices, some courses will take place in diverse locations to accommodate those in our community who live some distance away from Federation, including MaTovu, a new community space in South City.
This year, CJL will put out a Winter/Spring catalog, so check in again for new courses and speakers in January.

- Some courses have a minimum and maximum enrollment, so please register early.
