Join Jewish Federation of St. Louis for the next event in the SH’MA: Listen! Speaker Series on Thursday, September 17 at 7:30 pm with Professor Dan Ben-David.

Much of the discussion about Israel seems to continue to focus on an outdated set of assumptions. Within Israel, there is a growing realization that the country’s core challenges have shifted from a focus on external security to a focus on internal challenges. Israel is at a crossroads. Come learn about the new emerging set of issues that Israel faces as Israel’s expertise in technology continues to move the country forward.

Professor Dan Ben-David is the founder and President of the new independent, non-partisan Shoresh Institute for Socioeconomic Research and a senior faculty member of the Department of Public Policy at Tel Aviv University. Until recently, he served as the executive director of the Taub Center for Social Policy Studies. He has also served as an advisor to the World Bank and World Trade Organization. Professor Ben David has been included among the “100 Most Influential People in Israel” by Haaretz newspaper.

The event will take place at Jewish Federation of St. Louis Kopolow Building. For further information or to RSVP, please contact Barbara Levin at BLevin@cajestl.org or 314-442-3752.
