The following poem was written by Hilda Lebedun and shared as part of the Memory Project.

The earth is not satisfied.
It still grinds and rumbles
In many distant places,
Creating havoc on earth.
Torrential rains
Dispatch huge boulders
From the mountainside,
Closing highways.

The sky is graying
With heavy rains
Flooding everything in its way,
Destroying homes, fields, and
Creatures big and small,
Drowning people.
And freezing raindrops fall
In unprecedented snows,
Breaking wires, plunging them
Into darkness and cold
All around.

Dear God, where are you?
Are you too high?
