Eat, drink, and talk sex with an expert in the field.
Jewish Federation’s Young Professionals Division (YPD) is preparing for a special event on Valentine’s Day. Couples are invited to Between the Sheets, a fun and flirty night out with sex therapist Heather Raznick and special guest Rabbi Hyim Shafner, Senior Rabbi of Bais Abraham Congregation and author of The Everything Jewish Wedding Book. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 14, 7-9 pm at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel.
Between the Sheets is $25 per couple (or $13 singles) covering cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and desserts. The night will include discussion, interactive activities and giveaways. This is the first event organized by the newly-created Couples and Family Committee, a group dedicated to meeting the needs of YPD’s young couples and families.
“YPD has been creating programming for young adults for years, but we have found that after getting married and/or having children, many don’t want to participate in the same programming as their single counterparts. It’s important to keep couples involved in the Jewish community, and this is just another way of letting them know that they are welcome at YPD and we understand their unique wants and needs,” said Sara Haluf, Couples and Family Committee Co-chair with Robert Heideman.
Heideman shares her enthusiasm for YPD’s newly-broadened reach. “Our event on February 14th is a perfect example of creating great programming for a target demographic. We are bringing couples together and offering a very interactive and interesting topic that we are all curious about. Who doesn’t want to talk about sex?”
Planning committee includes Courtney Jacobs, Heather Silverman and Rebecca Snyder. Vice President of Couple and Family Engagement is Matt Litwack. Young Professionals Division President is Jeff Sparks.
